WESTON ACRES
Weston Acres is 3i HoME’s first Caring Communities™ located in Rumford, Maine. 3i HoME's Caring Communities™ is a mixed-income, person-center neighborhood that features individual homes with smart assistive technologies and universal design that allow these homes to be accessible and transformable to meet anyone’s needs now and in the future.
Weston Acres is a community of 42 living units in Rumford Center – a picturesque setting overlooking the Androscoggin River. Additional planned features are:

30+ acres to be set aside as an accessible outdoor conservation/recreation area to include hiking trails, a playground, and community art space

Community assets including a firepit, community garden, and green spaces
Why Rumford, Maine?
Rumford is a small town in western Maine with a current population of about 6,000. Like many small, rural towns, housing that is accessible and designed to enable homeowners to age in place is scarce and (when available) expensive. As a community that is blossoming and that embraced the idea of 3i HoME’s Caring Communities™, we knew Rumford would be the ideal location for our first community.
The Visionary Team
3i Housing of Maine
Founded in 2020 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, 3i Housing of Maine (3i HoME) was established to address the need for accessible, affordable and supportive housing so that people of all ages can have community based living options drawn from our 3i’s: Independent living through Innovative technology in an Integrated home and community based setting.
